Engineering analysis
Aerodynamics
The F-22 combines aerodynamic shaping, digital flight controls and two-dimensional thrust vectoring. These keep it controllable and maneuverable at high angles of attack without giving up its low-observable planform.
Propulsion
Two F119-PW-100 engines, each in the 35,000-pound-thrust class, let the F-22 cruise above Mach 1.5 without afterburner. Supercruise gives it speed and range without the fuel cost of running the afterburner continuously.
Specifications
Dimensions and weights as published, with the basis of each figure.

Published figures are shown as recorded. The figure under each one, in the other unit system, is converted by ORBIX and rounded to four significant figures or one decimal place, whichever is coarser. A figure with no qualifier is a published or nominal value.
Propulsion
The F-22 Raptor is powered by two Pratt & Whitney F119-PW-100 low-bypass turbofans. Thrust figures in the table are per engine.

Performance
Published figures for the baseline aircraft. Range depends on load and fuel, so it is a reference value rather than a mission figure.
